    Prayers for the sick (mi sheberach l’cholim) are offered each morning that the Torah is read. Call the Shul office to have a name added to the list for one week only. If a prayer is necessary for the following week, it will be necessary to call again. Please furnish the person’s (and his or her mother’s) Hebrew name, or English name if the Hebrew name is not available.

    The Franco Foundation
    provides financial assistance for food, clothing, and shelter to families and individuals facing crisis within the Greater Washington & Maryland Jewish communities. We assist these families until they can finally support themselves once again. The Franco Foundation depends on the community for support.     Donations to the Yehuda Mond Foundation, and the Tomchei Shabbos of Greater Washington help a growing number of individuals and families in need, year round, and are a meaningful way to both honor friends and relatives and to celebrate simchas.  The Tomchei Shabbos will send beautifully designed cards to the family or individual that you select in order to acknowledge donations made by you honoring someone’s Bar or Bas mitzvah, yarhzeit or any other notable occasion. Please contact the Yehuda Mond Foundation at cards@YehudaMond.org or send your donations to 812 Hyde Court, Silver Spring.

    Kemp Mill has been successfully managing a website that links jobseekers to important resources in the search for employment. In addition to listing dozens of openings (from accounting to transportation), http://www.jobassist.org/ allows you to post jobs and your own availability, request help with resumes and interview skills, and access useful tips on the internet, or receive job or career change mentoring.     Shabbat Children’s Minyan for children under Bar/Bat Mitzvah age is held on Shabbat at 10:15 AM in a separate room for prayers and play. Please ensure that your children, if not participating in a supervised group, remain quietly with you in shul. It is dangerous and disruptive for your children to run around the building without supervision.

    The SSJC Mikvah
    is available for women Yom Tov and Friday nights throughout the year by appointment only. Please call (202) 578-1156 to make an appointment with the mikvah attendant.

    Shalos Seuda.We appreciate those who might wish to sponsor a Seudat Shlishit for occasions such as yahrzeits, commemorations, dedications, and honors. Contact Chaya Kranz if you wish to do so. Chaya Kranz is also the Point of Contact for the Kiddush Committee. Please call her at the Shul office for information and suggestions on catering, scheduling, and prices for your Kiddush.
